Rebranding a Fan-Favorite Collectibles Group on Social Media
SETTING THE STAGE
Omnibuds Café, created by Kevin and Sal, is one of the most active and fast-growing collectibles communities on social media. What started as a passionate fan group quickly became a destination for collectors and creators alike. But the brand identity didn’t reflect the energy or personality behind the group. It needed a serious upgrade to match the momentum.
That’s where we came in.
THE CHALLENGE
Omnibuds Café had a strong following but no cohesive brand to unify it. There was no logo, no brand voice, and no consistent design language. It was all community energy with no structure to support long-term growth. One of Kevin and Sal’s biggest goals was to create merch and apparel that members would be excited to wear. But without a recognizable visual system, nothing felt official or consistent.
They needed a brand that was nostalgic, playful, and completely tailored to their community.
THE SOLUTION
We started by focusing on what made Omnibuds special: a love for comic culture, cartoon-style energy, and an inclusive, fun community. One of the first creative requests from Kevin and Sal was to design a coffee-inspired character that could represent the group and feel instantly collectible.
That direction led to the creation of Mugsy—a custom, retro-style mascot that gave the brand a clear voice and visual centerpiece. From there, we developed a complete identity system built around expressive badge-style logos, warm sepia tones, and bold typography.
Omnibuds Café’s new visual identity blends retro cartoons, vintage branding, and comic book nostalgia into a bold, energetic style. Inspired by classic animation and the iconic Giant-Size X-Men #1 cover, the brand embraces hand-drawn characters and punchy layouts for a timeless, playful feel.
We chose fonts that echo mid-century signage and comic book titling, with bold, blocky letterforms for high impact. The color palette is a warm mix of sepia tones, balanced by a splash of color for contrast, mimicking the warmth of coffee and aged comics.
The result is a vintage-meets-modern brand system that redefines collector culture with a look that feels bold, nostalgic, and instantly iconic.
THE RESULTS
Since launching the rebrand, Omnibuds Café has seen increased engagement across social channels, more cohesive recognition from the community, and strong adoption of the mascot and visuals. What began as a fan group now has the feel of a complete brand, and Mugsy has become the face of it all.
With a clear, consistent identity in place, Kevin and Sal are set up to grow the community even further and continue turning followers into fans.
