Kalen’s Collectibles began as a passion project—a curated mix of comic books, anime, and rare finds shared with a growing online community. As his audience expanded, Kalen needed a brand that could grow with him. He came to Southpaw Creative Co. without a logo, a visual identity, or a clear direction. Just a big vision and a loyal fan base.

THE CHALLENGE

Without a cohesive visual identity, Kalen’s brand lacked the recognition and trust needed to convert his growing audience into customers. He needed a distinctive look that resonated with his community and reflected his unique background.

THE SOLUTION

We started by defining the tone, personality, and visual language that would connect with Kalen’s audience and reflect his roots. That led to a custom mascot-style logo inspired by vintage comic art, anime energy, and Kalen’s Japanese heritage.

The result is a bold, flexible identity built around a single character: Kalen himself. It’s nostalgic, personal, and immediately connects with collectors.

We extended the brand system across social media, apparel, and digital touchpoints to give Kalen a consistent and recognizable presence.

THE RESULTS

After launching the new identity, Kalen’s business took off. Within months, he saw a 400% increase in sales and a major jump in community engagement. He’s now one of the most popular sellers on Whatnot, consistently pulling in live audiences and standing out in a competitive stream-based marketplace.

 

What started as a side hustle now has a brand that feels as collectible as the products behind it.
